Going to Austria was one the most memorable trips. we showed up and there was about two feet of fresh snow, then about a week of sun, then it snowed again like three more feet. it was a rad trip for sure!

You still making movies with your friends from Squaw?

I didn't get to do to much around here this year cause i was gone so much, but we still get our shred on when ever I'm in town, plus we hang all summer skating, and floating the river. We will probably make a movie soon though so look out!

You’ve had a long career all ready and you’re a young guy; what’s been the most memorable experience you have had in snowboarding?

Well just the whole experience is the best you could say, like doing contests, traveling new places, learning about the snow and the conditions, ect.. I don't think I could limit my self to just one experience.

You have a girlfriend…how has life on the road been this season, and how is it maintaining a personal life at home while constantly traveling?

It's been really good...my girlfriend is the best and supports me traveling to do my job. Of course its a bit tough but we make it work well, this of course is because we rule.

You’ve been on Oakley for a long time; when did you start and what are your favorite products from apparel and eyewear?

I've been riding for Oakley for like 9 years, that was about the time i actually started wearing goggles. I loved the A-frames but then the crowbar came out and that became my favorite piece of eyewear definitely.

What’s your most memorable Oakley trip?

The most memorable oakley trip was the east coast tour with Swanny, Curtis Csisek, the wombat. we went to the US Open and to the World Quarterpipe Championships contest, then to the Last Call event at Ragged Mountain. From there we went straight to Maine for nationals. Good trip!

I’m assuming your favorite place to ride is Squaw since you’re a Tahoe Loc…if so, what’s an ideal day, and how does the day in the life of Sammy go for that day?

I usually wake up fairly early , then make some coffee and chill for a little bit. When everybody is ready we head for the hills, and go straight to KT-22. When that gets blown out we go up higher and ride some good hidden lines. If I'm alone then i just put on floyd and cruise mountain runs all day till my legs give out.

If you were stranded on an island with only a pair of Oakley Split Thump MP3 playing glasses, duct tape, scissors and a microscope what would 3 bands would you have loaded on your Thumps?

Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, The Doors.
