Q & A

Torstein! You have had a whirlwind of a past year and a half, between Abominable Snow Jam, Stylewars, Air and Style, X-Games…all of it! What are some of the biggest highlights for you?

All the contests were fun, but definitely experiencing filming a videopart, it was so fun!

How has this past summer been for you? You were up in Canada for a bit…how was that?

Summer’s been so much fun, and whistler was awesome. Such a good park and amazing vibe up there. Lot of skating too, and crazy parties.

You filmed with Standard last season and were involved on a bunch of cool trips…what was the most memorable?

Probably the trip to interior BC, Terrace. Never ridden that of deep snow before, and watching all the other dudes killing it was crazy.

Norway has definitely produced some of the best snow shredders on the planet; who were your influences growing up?

All my friends that I grew up riding with in my hometown, and of course the pros in all the videos.

Who are you influences now???

Still a lot of the guys I watched back then, like Travis Parker and Mark Frank Montoya to mention a couple. But I think I get influenced by everybody I ride with in some way, picking up on things as I go I guess.

Why is Norway so expensive?? What are you guys trying to prove over there…cost me $12.00 for a beer.

I know its ridiculus, and also why its so nice to visit you guys:-)

How big is your hometown back in Norway? Do you still have a lot of friends you see when you go back home or has most everyone left?

Almost everyone is still there and I see them all the time, best feeling coming home to all your old friends after a long season.

If you weren’t snowboarding, what do you see yourself doing?

Havent even thought about it man, haha. I’d be a mess I think.

What other hobbies do you have outside of snowboarding?

Chilling would be a hobby of mine, but also skating and just being outside with friends.

You won the Big Air at X-Games last year…which was your first year ever in X-Games, what was the response like back home after that?

Nothing crazy, just a couple people telling me “good job” and such, which I’m all about. I don’t think I’d be comfortable with anything I did blowing up back home.

This is always a hard question to answer, but what is one thing you wish people knew about you, or that people probably don’t know about you?

I honestly don’t think there’s any one thing I’d Want people to know, but if you think I’m hiding something why don’t you ask me about that? Hehe

What’s your favorite Oakley product when your snowboarding, and your favorite for when you’re chilling off the snow?

When spring shred is on and its hot I freakin love snowboarding in Frogskins, same with off the snow though, but any type of sunnies from Oakley are legit; they're amazing! I also really like Inmate. I always use Crowbars...that's my goggle of choice for sure. I love having a bunch of lens options for changing weather, especially when I'm in the back country. It makes it so nice.

Any last words??

Thanks so much to Oakley and everybody else who supports me.
