Bio
JP Walker has been killing the snowboard scene for well over a decade now with amazing movie parts and super steezy rail riding. Popping onto the map in the mid-90s as a young ripper from Utah, JP was first noticed as someone who could throw down the backside and frontside rodeos with the best of them. Pete Line picked up on this guy’s style and put him on the original Forum squad, and together produced some of the best movies over the past six years.
JP returned to the video scene in a huge way with the end section of THAT – the new Forum Snowboards Team video after taking off the year before from filming. The result is one of the most technical parts JP has ever thrown down, showcasing that no one progresses faster and has stronger style. Make sure to check out his part where he is rocking his first signature series goggle – the O-Frame JP Walkers.
Q & A
JP Walker has always been on the forefront of snowboarding and has proved this by putting out the strongest snowboard video parts year after year. JP continues his legacy again in MDP's newest release "Double Decade" dropping this fall. Check the teaser!

EVERYDAY
First off…this has been a sick season with powder everywhere; where have you been frequenting? Or have you even had to leave Utah since it’s been so sick?
I Started out my season with a few rail trips out to minnesota. After that it got really good back home in SLC. I spent a month or two filming rails there and got in some insane powder days as well. From there I hit up tahoe montana and whistler for some more pow riding.
You reunited with Dawger for Double Decade…how has that been for you? It must be a good feeling…
It's been amazing working with MDP again. I got to ride and film with my good friinds Jeremy jones and Seth Huot so that was obviously amazing. Those guys are the best. It was good to be back filming with people who are a bit more professional and focused too.
What the hell do you eat…because I remember your part in Decade was insane and you haven’t slowed down at all. What are the 3 clutch food items for JP Walker?
Haha! Sushi, water, raw almonds
This has been a big transition year for you with sponsors and film crews, what have you been focusing on most in your riding?
Just trying to get some bangers son. Looking for unique or different features to experiment on.
What’s your summer plans…bali again, or a new surf adventure? Or just take some much needed time to chill in so-cal?
i just got broke off, so I will be rehabing my shoulder for a bit. But for sure a surf trip to mexico at some point, maybe two. Ill be at camp of champions for stepchild week in july shredding. just chilling, looking for surf and snow mainly.
You’ve been riding your motorcycle across the country with your homies…how long have you been riding for and what’s been the gnarliest part of that trip so far?
Before this trip i had only put about 300 miles on my bike and had never even been on the freeway. Jumping into a 2000 miles ride through the mountains with expectations of being able to perform snowboarding and skateboarding as well was pretty gnar. There were some sketchy moments but the whole trip overall was the gnarliest.
You’ve been with Oakley for a long time and have been through a lot with the brand…when did you join the family and what are your favorite products right now.
Man, I think Brad Schuffele got me on flow with oakley around 95ish. So it been my longest sponsor for sure. I've never riden any other googles basically my whole life, thats pretty sick. Obviously my favorite googles are my Doppio signature models. For shades i'm feelin the Hijinx, Conduct and Inmate.
What's one product that Oakley makes that you definitely can't live without?
I gotta have my googles though, no doubt
You definitely have your hand in every board sport…who inspires you in Skateboarding, Surfing and Snowboarding?
Lots of my snowboard inspiration comes from skateboarding, and latley a bit from surfing too. Danny Way, Marc Johnson, Guy Mariano, Taj Burrow, Bruce Irons, Jamie o'brien, Jeremy Jones and Seth Huot. Those guys all inspire me in there individual sports as well as snowboarding.
